Peotone: The Collections
The Oehlerking Collection
Starting at the top left is a Hardin Barbed that dates from 8000 to 5500 B.C. Next is an unusual point that appears to be a variant of a Thebes. This point would date somewhere in the 800-6000 B.C. range. Because the base is missing on the third point it is difficult to assign a type name, however, a good guess would be a Lost Lake due to the configuration of the blade and the left-hand bevel from resharpening. This would date the same as the
Thebes. The point pictured at the far right appears to be a Kirk Corner Notch which dates to the Early Archaic period.

Starting at the bottom row is pictured a Stillwell and dates at 7500 - 6900 B.C. The next two artifacts on the bottom row are Palmers and are dated the same as the Stillwell. Next is a small Kirk and the last point is an apparent Pinetree. Kirk, Kirk Corner Notch, Stillwell, Palmer and Pinetree are basically all related and date to the same time period.
