Here we leave the Adena Culture of the Early Woodland, top left point,
and travel through
Middle Woodland to the true arrowheads. Shown next to the first
artifact is an untyped point, at the moment, next are two Snyders and a
Racoon Notched just under the small Snyders. The Racoon Notched are
diagnostic of the early Late Woodland in the Midwest and are probably the
first true arrowheads in the eastern U.S. along with Jack’s Reef.
Starting in the second row we have three Gibsons and the remaining arrowheads
are of various types, some belonging in the Scallorn Cluster while others
remain untyped for the moment.
