I JUST HEARD FROM A FRIEND OF A PLACE THEY JUST STARTED CLEARING NEAR THE SMALL COMMINITY OF OXLEY HERE IN NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS. WE GOT TO HUNT FOR A LITTLE WHILE BEFORE THE STORMS RAN US OUT. THERE ARE HUNDRES OF FLAKING AND CHIPS ON THE GROUND.
THEY HAVE SCRAPED DOWN WITH A DOZER ABOUT 8". I FOUND THESE IN THE PUSHED UP PILES ALONG WITH SOME PRETTY NEAT TOOLS. MY BUDDY FOUND A COUPLE-- I'LL TRY TO GET PICS OF. ARE THESE A SNYDER TYPE POINT?

A FRIEND OF MINE WHO IS IN HIS EARLY 60'S TOLD ME OF A CREEK IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE COUNTY THEY USED TO LIVE NEAR AND THEY
FOUND ARTIFACTS ALONG THE BANKS. SO I TOOK UP CREEK WALKING AND SNAKE DODGING. THE PHOTOS ARE OF ITEMS FOUND IN THE LAST 2 OR 3 WEEKS ALONG THE CREEK, SOME OF THEM SEEM PRETTY WORN FROM BEING IN THE WATER. THERE ARE FIELDS ON EITHER SIDE THAT HAVE CROPS IN THEM RIGHT NOW BUT IT WON'T BE TOO LONG AND I'LL CHECK THEM OUT. I REALLY LIKE THE LITTLE HAND AXE OR WHAT EVER IT IS. IT IS 4" X 2" AND ABOUT 1" THICK, WORKED BOTH SIDES. THE QUARTZ KNIFE HAS A LOT OF WORKING,  IS THIN AND AND TRANSLUCENT. I SURE THOUGHT I HAD A NICE ONE TILL I PULLED IT OUT OF THE BANK AND THE TIP WAS DAMAGED OH WELL.... I'LL SHUT UP AND KEEP YOU POSTED ON THINGS AROUND HERE IF I DON'T GET SNAKE BIT OR HEAT STROKE!

THESE ITEMS ARE FROM THE NEW
ROAD BED AND PUSH UP ON THE PROPERTY NEXT TO MY GARDEN. I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE STONE WAS USED FOR BUT IT FITS PERFECTLY IN THE PALM AND HAS A 1 1/2" DIP IN THE CENTER FROM THEN ENDS. IT THE BOTTOM ARE GROOVES RUNNING LENGTH WISE. ON THE BACKSIDE ARE TWO DEEP GROOVES. IT IS MADE OF SAND STONE AND MAY BE A SHARPENING STONE FROM THE LOOKS OF THE GROOVES. IT'S HARD TO TELL BUT IT LOOKS LIKE A BANANA. WON'T BE LONG NOW AND IT'LL COOL DOWN ENOUGH TO DO SOME SERIOUS HUNTING
