Almost Skunked
April 17, 1999

Highlights:
Quinn finds a nice bone ornament.
Rich and his brother Ted find some nice bits.
Couple of anonymous Dirt Brothers find a Heavy Duty and a Waco Sinker.

Quinn's point is ground all over.
It was found about five feet below a washed surface.
If you've seen the hole he's working in (check past "latest finds"),
you've noticed how sandy it is. In reality there seems to be 3 layers:
sand, a grey layer peppered with lime flake, and a red clayish layer.
The point was found at the seam above the clay layer.
Know what it is? Email Quinn.

Another pic. Paul's stone is a real puzzle. The other side is just a bumpy stone.
Looking at the photo now, I think it could be vermiculite.
Could it be part of a hone?
What is it? Any ideas? Email Paul.

Thin heartbreaker Bob found in the bulldozed black layer at ravine's head.

Dave and Rich found a couple nice tools in this hole under a pile of felled trees.
Note Dave's hand tool--- our critics would not like the shovel and
never see the real tool Dave uses --- he's a patient fellow.
Dave found a nice archaic point, but left the site before we could get a shot.
Will try to update this page later.
