Almost Skunked
April 17, 1999

Highlights:
Quinn finds a nice bone ornament.
Rich and his brother Ted find some nice bits.
Couple of anonymous Dirt Brothers find a
fine mystery point and a Waco Sinker.

Quinn's bone ornament is coated with some kind of waxy white substance.
I found a similarly coated bone fragment that can be seen in this tools page (near bottom).
Quinn and I have been working a section of the main ravine for near a month now.

Know what it is? Email Quinn.

Rich and his brother Ted found a selection of interesting artifacts
including the nice black Morhiss or Adena base.
I really like the nice grinding dish, a surface find.

Rich's brother Ted (l) visited from Florida.

The fine 3" point looks paleo, but is not ground-- any ideas as to what it could be?
Email Bob if you've got ideas.
Also found, a large Waco-type sinker.

Paul and Quinn (l) and my daughter, Robin.
Paul and I were skunked, although I found a nice front-end scraper.
Well, better luck next week!

A view of the land reclamation beginning at the quarry.
Soon the site will be no more.
