THE ONION CRIES "THIS IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE"
Commentary by Richard L.

The warrior knows the cost of battle and gives all to
the very end. We've all seen the battle waged years on
end. We've all witnessed the sheer peril and impending
doom but the warrior spirit lives on. Its power gives us
reason to give as her spirit so freely gave.

THE ONION'S OPEN ARMS SEVERED

Last night a few brave hearted diggers decided to
embrace that old girl "Onion". She welcomed the visit
and gave gifts... the best of which was a three and three
quarter inch "Wells" point with horizontal chipping, a
medial ridge down both sides and heavy basal grinding.
This farewell party lasted until one forty- five a.m.
on thursday the tenth of february, two thousand. The hole
was left in the customary way (very clean) even hoping
some one else might also bid a fare the well. Excitedly
I entered thursday afternoon hoping that once more
lady luck would be on my side and that she would openly
receive me, but to my woe her arms were severed (hole
dozed again just where the three new holes were) and the
chance to find her ever again with the same charm is
fleeting forever. To salute her I will want to display
my last digging spurt(two and one-half months).I had
been pursuing other treasures and late last year took
up residence once more with the 'good news' of your
finds. She knew the time was near and wished to give her
time earned friends some great lasting memories.

I, for one, can't wait to see your collection from the site, Richard.
Thanks for the commentary!
