Here we see the kind of ground we're in. Quinn had just exposed the tip (which unfortunately turned out to be just that, a tip) among this dense layer of snails and even a little charcoal--- lots of burned rock and bone, too.

Note the color of this layer....it contains a lot of sand. This area is near where the rock shelter that was blown up was located--- it looks to have been a drainage area, or near one, when the shelter was still there. Now that the area's been dozed, it has become a MAJOR drain area and could ultimately turn into a new ravine.


Pile-o-bison bones found in aforementioned hole.
