From Dirt Bro Michael B in Texas:
Well I've been out a few more times since I found my first point. and I belive Ive discovered a site on a tributary to Little Bear Creek! So far Ive been to the spot 3 times, and Ive found 8 arrowheads (not sure of the names or type) 3 really nice hide scrapers, 2 hammer/grinding stones, a few broken knife tips, a drill, some blanks, and a very nice chopper of some kind, also this morning when I went I think I found a buffalo tooth. All of the things I found were either sitting on the surface or sticking out of it . I took photos but havnt had time to develop them yet. the area where I found them is being washed away every time it rains, because someone built an earth dam blocking the little creek that goes through near the site, so once the water level gets high enough it spills out of the pond on the other side of the dam and washes over the "site" I cant really descibe it that well..sorry, theres also a large boulder at the site that has had its edges polished probably from the people there using it to soften their animal skins and such by rubbing I guess, I recognized it because I had one shown to me when I took a fishing trip on the Frio river a few years ago, also it just looked odd as hell seeing a round boulder sitting there all by itself.

The land that the site is on is private property I believe but I haven't found the owners driveway or address yet to talk to them about it I dunnoI don't really know what to tell them, ...I guess I just wanted to save what I could from getting washed away and busted up for now, let me know what you think I should do about talking to the land owners. This site is south of the town of Manchaca Texas. just past the Travis/Hays county line.

Thanks Mike! All collectors should make every possible effort to contact landowners!
Never dig on someone else's property without permission!
Many times I surface hunt the creeks along property lines hoping to run into the landowners.
Tell the landowners of your desire to collect that which will otherwise be destroyed: BE HONEST & STRAIGHTFORWARD and you likely will get permission.
Bob
