One of the coolest stories I've ever received surrounds this Guadalupe Biface (Early Archaic 8000-5000BP).
From Dirt Bro  Joe Trussell in Texas:
"One other thing, and I have been meaning to do this for quite some time:
While walking down the gravel road in front of my house a couple of years ago
I found a Guadalupe Biface (tool) in the gravel. It has a numbering system
drawn on to it but it doesn't resemble the usual Smithsonian trinomial
  numbering system.

The numbers are still easy to read:
  3904-3A   ( this could be 39D4-3A )
and below that the number 48

I found it upside down in the gravel and as soon as I picked it up I noticed
it had a strong resemblance to a Guadalupe Tool.
The worked edge is still well defined. I asked the county
commissioner where they were getting their road gravel but he couldn't say."

  Now that's odd, isn't it!!!???
I'm wondering if there's any way to figure out whose work this man found??!!
He lives in Hillsboro, outside of Dallas....

Thought you might enjoy this ..... "

I was really taken by this story and wrote to Carolyn Spock, Records Director at the Texas Archaeological Research Laboratory in Austin--- Her Reply is on the next page
