From Dirt Bro Don Clay of Augusta Georgia (via Margo and Peotone):

Dear Margo
I'm still looking for my first axe too. I have been looking in plowed fields and along creek banks for the past 15 yrs and have yet to find an one. I have found some beautiful points and a variety of tools from different periods, and have yet to identify them all as well as you have identified these in the Dirt Brothers Web site. A very good site and I commend you for all your hard work and your willingness to share your knowledge with others. I have really enjoyed looking at all the different points, but I enjoy more reading your comments on the different sites and individuals who have so generously shared with you. Thanks again for sharing and don't give up the hunt for that special axe. It's out there just waiting for you somewhere.

Good Luck and thanks again

PS I am enclosing a picture of some points, drills and knives I found along the Savannah River. This was a recently clear cut site and a friend of mine and I found these and more, but alas, no axe..I'm still looking!! The quartz piece in the middle is 4 inches long and 1 5/8 inches at the widest point. Let me know what you think of them.

Thanks Don!
Bob
