...The shell points are lightning whelk inner cores that were used for trade and "cheap" arrow and spear points; awls,etc. They are very commonly found and usually thought to be naturally created, although I find them in undisturbed midden leaving me to think they are man crafted. The tooth is bison, I think. Also found on
coastal shell midden are red drum otoliths, sometime in great abundance.

These are "ear stones" from the drum which don't decay like bone or flesh. I'll get you a scan on some of those soon if you like.

Here are a couple of scans of some otoliths I picked up at a
submerged shell midden. Not sure of the fish type, but probably red and black drum and maybe sheepshead too. Those types frequent the shallow grass flats during warm weather. Hope you can pretty them up if they're not clear!...
