Peotone: The Collections
Miscellaneous Collections
The Aussprung Collection
Robert Aussprung retired as a teacher in the Peotone school system in 1986. Approximately thirty years ago, while out hunting for pheasant with a friend, Bob found these two artifacts.

The larger point is a Kirk and the smaller point is a Brewerton, nicely ground. Bob was notified that artifacts from the Peotone area were being put up by Bob Wishoff and he checked it out and notified us that two Peotone artifacts now reside in Colorado, along with him and his wife. He knew exactly where he found them and he sent them back to be scanned and documented and we thank him for those efforts. I’m thinking that he possibly remembered the exact location because he found the points........but his friend got the pheasant! Another interesting fact, my buddy Claude Werner was once a student under Bob’s auspices and I’m waiting to hear some tales on Claude, however, to date they are only good tales.......how disappointing.
